LONDON, UK – Filipinos in Care is pleased to announce that its pioneering leadership programme, Project CHARM (Care Home Aspiring Registered Managers Programme), is currently undergoing formal mapping and assessment with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI)—the UK’s only chartered professional body dedicated to promoting the highest standards in leadership and management.
This significant development marks a step forward in validating the quality and impact of Project CHARM in transforming leadership in adult social care. A successful outcome would result in the programme receiving formal recognition by CMI, adding a layer of credibility and prestige for its participants and alumni.
“The CMI assessment reflects our commitment to excellence, rigour and social impact,” said Jay Trondillo, Programme Lead and Co-Founder of FIC. “We built this programme to empower the next generation of care home leaders, and recognition from CMI would affirm its place in the national leadership development landscape.”
Benefits to Project CHARM Graduates
Once formally recognised, graduates of Project CHARM will also be awarded Foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr) status, demonstrating their commitment to professional development and ethical leadership. This status:
Signals recognition by a globally respected professional body
Provides access to CMI’s digital learning hub, CPD tools, and professional networks
Boosts employability and visibility within the care and leadership sectors
Opens pathways to full Chartered Manager (CMgr) designation in future
Raising the Bar in Care Home Leadership
Project CHARM is a CPD-accredited course designed to prepare aspiring Registered Managers with the skills, regulatory insight, and leadership confidence needed to run safe, effective, and people-centred care services. The course covers:
Regulatory duties and inspection frameworks
Operational and financial management
Leadership, coaching, and quality improvement
Change implementation and outcomes measurement
Delivered by sector leaders, including experienced care home leaders and educators, the programme combines academic grounding with real-world application.
“We are investing in the long-term value of this programme for learners and the wider care sector,” added Trondillo. “We’ll keep our graduates and stakeholders informed as we move forward in the CMI recognition process.”
