London, United Kingdom — Filipinos in Care today announces that its founder and cofounders were formally honoured at a ceremony in London on 10 October 2025. The event was organised by the Philippine Embassy in the United Kingdom together with the Migrant Workers Office Overseas Workers Welfare Administration in London and the Department of Migrant Workers.

Kier Dungo, and cofounders Charito Leonardo and Xyza Malloch received recognition as exemplary Filipino nurses working in the United Kingdom. The recognition formed part of a Tribute Dinner for Filipino nurses and community leaders held in London on 10 October 2025.

The evening was attended by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, who paid tribute to Filipino health workers and community leaders during her visit to the UK. Her participation highlighted the government’s Serbisyo Caravan initiative for overseas Filipino workers.

Filipinos in Care was also named among the outstanding organisations working with the Filipino community in the UK. The organisation regards this recognition as an acknowledgement of its work to promote leadership, support and professional development across the care sector.

“We are deeply honoured by this recognition,” said Xyza Malloch, CoFounder of Filipinos in Care. “This belongs to our members, volunteers and partners. Their commitment made this possible. We will continue to champion excellence and support for Filipino care workers across the UK.”

Filipinos in Care extends sincere thanks to the Philippine Embassy, OWWA, DMW, the First Lady’s office and to everyone who has supported the organisation’s mission. The charity remains focused on leadership, training and community support for Filipino health and care professionals in the UK.
