Governance and Transparency
Filipinos in Care is committed to high standards of governance, accountability and transparency in all aspects of its work. We believe that strong governance is essential to maintaining public trust, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources, and delivering charitable activities that remain aligned with our purpose and values.
Our Governance
Filipinos in Care is governed by a Board of Trustees, who are collectively responsible for the overall direction, control and good governance of the organisation. The trustees oversee strategy, ensure that the charity remains true to its charitable objects, monitor performance, and support sound and lawful decision making.
The Board works to ensure that the organisation is well led, financially responsible and focused on delivering public benefit. Trustees also have a duty to act in the best interests of the charity, manage resources responsibly, and ensure appropriate oversight of risk, compliance and organisational development.
Accountability
We are committed to operating with integrity and openness. This includes maintaining clear governance arrangements, keeping appropriate records, and ensuring that decisions are made in a way that is consistent, proportionate and in the best interests of the organisation and the communities we serve.
We aim to ensure that our activities, partnerships and use of resources are guided by our charitable purpose and supported by appropriate oversight. As part of this commitment, the organisation maintains essential governance documents and records, including its governing document, trustee records, minutes of key decisions and financial information.
Transparency
We are committed to being open about who we are, how we are governed and how we carry out our work. We recognise that transparency strengthens confidence among our community, supporters, partners and the wider public.
Key organisational information will be made available through this website and, where applicable, through the relevant public registers. This includes details of our governance structure, trustee board, charitable purpose, and other information required as part of our legal and regulatory responsibilities.
Financial Responsibility
The trustees are responsible for ensuring that the charity’s funds and assets are used properly, lawfully and only in furtherance of its charitable purposes. We are committed to careful financial oversight, appropriate record keeping, and responsible decision making in relation to income, expenditure and the use of resources.
Where required, annual reports and financial statements will be prepared and made available in accordance with the organisation’s legal obligations.
Safeguarding and Standards
We recognise the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive environment in all areas of our work. We are committed to acting responsibly in relation to safeguarding, ethical conduct, and the fair treatment of those who engage with the organisation.
Our governance approach is underpinned by values of integrity, compassion, inclusion and accountability.
