Jay Trondillo is a health and social care leader with experience across frontline nursing, senior operational leadership, governance and service improvement. He began his career as a renal nurse in the Philippines before progressing into senior leadership in the UK care sector, including roles across complex nursing, residential and dual registered care services. He has also held responsibilities as a CQC registered manager and Nominated Individual.

As Co-founder and Trustee of Filipinos in Care, Jay brings strategic insight into the organisation’s work around workforce development, leadership progression and inclusion. His own journey as an internationally educated nurse shapes his commitment to helping Filipino and ethnically diverse care professionals build confidence, visibility and credible pathways into leadership.

Jay is the creator of Project CHARM, the Care Home Aspiring Registered Managers Programme. The programme supports aspiring leaders to understand regulation, governance, quality improvement, financial awareness and the practical realities of registered manager accountability. Through CHARM, Jay contributes to Filipinos in Care by developing structured leadership programmes, mentoring future managers, building sector partnerships and turning professional aspiration into practical development.

His leadership has been recognised through several achievements. In 2026, Jay was awarded the prestigious CNO Silver Award from the office of the Chief Nurse for Adult Social Care, Professor Deborah Sturdy, for his outstanding services to social care. In 2025, his nurse-led falls reduction work received the Nursing in Social Care Award at the Nursing Times Awards. He was also awarded Regional Director of the Year in 2024 within his own organisation. Homes within his portfolio have also received awards, reflecting the collective work of teams delivering high standards of care, innovation and improvement.

Jay holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in nursing, management and executive leadership. He also writes for academic and professional publications and continues to be an advocate of emerging leaders across health and social care.
